Competition Coaching
I have been Philip Koster's Caddy for over 10 years now and I have watched all sort of heats. I've seen it all - amazing sailors sailing terribly and sailors who never shine in practice winning very difficult heats. I know better then anyone that competition is not only about being able to sail good in practice but about being prepared in all aspects.
There is a lot to consider:
-
spot you're competing on
-
who your competitors are and what can they do
-
how to sail in the given conditions
-
how to maximise spots' potential
-
what gear to choose, when and why
When it comes to sailing heats good strategy goes a long way.
This year (2019) a few of my junior students Alexia and Carlos Kiefer made podiums in the PWA Junior category and Justyna Sniady came 2nd in the first two PWA Wave events of the year in Gran Canaria and Tenerife, to make her first ever podium appearances and take the 1st position in the current PWA Overall Wave World Ranking.
I have had great success rate working with kids, men and women. I'm sure I can lift your competition game as well.
Competition sessions require a lot of discussions as well as reviewing your skills, past performances, current level, the spots you will compete on and even your opponents capabilities. Heat simulation is also a must. We will run practice and review heats with scoring.
To ensure that my competition coaching sessions are comprehensive and bring good value I offer packages of minimum 4hrs.
*Competition coaching available for all riders outside of Top 10 PWA (men and women).

Jorge is going behind me when I do my moves, he's giving me a lot of tips on how I can do the manoeuvres better.
I have been training with Jorge since 3 years now, working on variety of moves, gear set up, adapting to various conditions and on improving competition sailing. Jorge took my sailing and confidence on the water to the next level, by explaining how I can get the manoeuvres step by step, in a safe way. Working with him after coming back from injury was a game changer for me.
Jorge helped me get my first ever PWA Wave podium, as well as 4 finals and 3rd Overall Title of the 2019 Professional Windsurfers Association World Tour.
Apart from the fact that Jorge has taught me most of the maneuvers, he is a very good teacher because he has a lot of patience and explains me the maneuvers several times to understand them well.
He also windsurf very well and knows all the tricks.
